7 Days Islas Galápagos

  1. Day 1.- INTERPRETATTION CENTER

    Located on a high ground, on the outskirts of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno,It has an extension of approximately 220 Km2.The Interpretation Center has indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as an outdoor auditorium and a screening room.

    1 Room: Natural history
    The first room explores the volcanic origins of the islands, the marine currents that define their biophysical characteristics and the incredible biodiversity, famous throughout the world for its high level of endemism.
    2 Room: Human History
    It is the only place in Galapagos where the human history of the archipelago is exposed. A timeline traces its discovery, the era of whalers and the various episodes of colonization until the end of the century.
    3 Room: Conservation
    Dedicated the theme of nature conservation.
    Space A: People
    A permanent photographic exhibition captures moments in the life of the colonists.
    Space B: Resources
    Water, food, energy are exposed as the basis of human development on the planet always has an ecological impact.
    Space C: Challenges of conservation and sustainable development
    Fundamental questions, whose answers are the keys to sustainability in Galapagos, are offered after a brief presentation of each topic.

    PM.- CERRO TIJERETAS
    You can appreciate a large number of seabirds and you can also dive in a wonderful inlet to admire the richness of its seabed

  2. Day 2.- KAYACK / ISLOTE LOBOS

    KAYAK TOUR
    Enter the water in our kayaks and enjoy the view from a different perspective. This 3-hour tour will take you through San Cristobal Bay to Tijeretas Bay. Enjoy a snorkel at Carola Beach before returning to the port.

    PM.– LOBOS ISLAND: The most important colony of Sea Lions and Blue-Footed Boobies is on this Island. The scenery is beautiful and it is the perfect spot to snorkel. Briefing and dinner on board. Return to the yacht. Dinner and briefing for next day.

  3. Day 3.- VIAJE A LA ISLA SANTA CRUZ

    AM.– RESERVA EL CHATO After lunch, visit to RESERVA EL CHATO to see the Giant Tortoises in their natural habitat. The Tortoises are easy to spot, lumbering around eating grass and leaves and wallowing. Some highland birds, like Cattle Egrets, Mockingbirds, Finches or Flycatchers can be seen here.

    PM.– TORTUGA BAY BEACH: After lunch, visit to Tortuga Bay Beach a pristine location covered with beautiful white sand beach. It takes around an hour walk to get the beach. Beautiful birds including the famous Galapagos Finches can be admired. The trail to the beach is paved and marked. There are two beaches at Tortuga Bay, the main beach is used for surfing due to its strong waves. There is a site where sea is calm.

  4. Day 4.- SANTA CRUZ ISLAND (CHARLES DARWIN RESEARCH STATION)

    AM.– SANTA CRUZ ISLAND (CHARLES DARWIN RESEARCH STATION):
    After breakfast, walk for about 20 minutes to the Charles Darwin Station, to observe the Galapagos Giant Turtles breading. The Darwin Station is part of the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galápagos Islands, an international non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research in the Galápagos Islands since 1959.

  5. Day 5.- VOLCAN SIERRA NEGRA / SNORKELL LAGUNA CONCHA PERLA

    Thursday, Day 7.- After breakfast, we make an expedition to Sierra Negra Volcano, considered the oldest of the volcanoes on Isabela, the crater of Sierra Negra has a 10 km diameter and it’s the second largest in the world; its last eruption occurred in 2005. The Sulfur, iron and the cooled magma make up a colorful landscape. Our adventure begins with a 45 minutes ride on a bus to the highlands of Isabela, we arrive at “Paradero Sierra Negra”, from here we walk through slopes of the Volcano. The trail conducts us to Volcan Chico (on the northeast of Sierra Negra Volcano), a fissure composed of scum and lava. This fissure had its last eruption on 1979 and the volcanic activity lasted for a week. From here we have an amazing view of the north of the island and if the day is clear we have a majestic view of the Perry Isthmus, a surrounding island. This expedition allows us to step through volcanic features and over lava flows formed in very recent years. We also see the formations of petrified lava of many different colors and textures and fumaroles scattered throughout this area.

    PM.– SNORKELL LAGUNA CONCHA PERLA
    Concha de Perla is the ideal place to practice sports such as swimming or diving. It is a bay with shallow, calm and transparent water that allows you to observe the fascinating Galápagos marine fauna and you can swim with sea lions and penguins, something that can not be experienced in any other tropical area of the world.

  6. Day 6.- HUMEDALES / ISLOTE TINTORERAS

    HUMEDALES: Disembark (dry landing), walk for about 30 mins. This area is characterized by sandy beaches, rocky shores, and mangroves. The area has a number of trails where you can see all four species of mangroves found in Galapagos and also migratory birds: Whimbrel, Short-Billed Dowitcher, Wilson’s Phalarope, Common Tern, Blue-Winged Teal, Osprey, Black-Bellied and Semipalmated Plovers, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs to name of tears a sad reminder of the history of Isabela. The wall was constructed between 1946 and 1959 while Isabela was a penal colony. As punishment the prisoners were forced to build the wall from huge blocks of lava. The wall is named for the many convicts that died while building the wall. Dinner and briefing for next day.

    WALL OF TEARS: By bus to Wall of tears a sad reminder of the history of Isabela. The wall was constructed between 1946 and 1959 while Isabela was a penal colony. As punishment the prisoners were forced to build the wall from huge blocks of lava. The wall is named for the many convicts that died while building the wall.
    BREEDING CENTER ARNALDO TUPIZA: This center has a captive breeding program for Tortoises from the populations of southern Isabela.

    PM.- TINTORERAS: After breakfast, Las Tintoreras is located south of Puerto Villamil. It has a small bay of completely calm turquoise waters, where you can appreciate sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas, rays, etc. The bay is connected to a crevice of crystal clear water, that’s shallow and when the tide is low, the entrance closes. In this crevice, you can see how reef Sharks swim along with other small fish and Sea Lions. Lunch on board.

    BREEDING CENTER ARNALDO TUPIZA: This center has a captive breeding program for Tortoises from the populations of southern Isabela.

  7. Day 7. Return
