4 Days Eastern Cordillera of Los Andes

  1. Day 1 Sumapaz Paramo – 4.000 m.a.s.l. Very cold weather

    Paramo of Sumapaz is listed as the world’s largest, is just two hours from Bogotá and is a great place for the endemics Green Bearded Helmetcrest, Bogota Rail, Apolinar´s Wren, and Silvery-throated Spinetail, for near endemics like Bronze-tailed Thornbill, Pale-bellied Tapaculo and Rufous –browed Conebill, other birds like Noble Snipe, Paramo Pipit, Black-tailed Trainbearer, Green-tailed Trainbearer, Red-rumped Bush-Tyrant, Eastern Meadowlark, Paramo Seedeater among others. In the afternoon transfer to the airport.

  2. Day 2 Chicaque Park (2.190 – 2.710 m.a.s.l.) Kool weather

    This park has a great variety of birds and worth a visit to see the birds that live there, Chicaque is just 45 minutes from Bogotá and there is possible find the Black Inca, Golden-bellied Starfrontlet, Emerald Toucanet, Smoky-brown Woodpecker, Chestnut-crowned Antpitta, Green and Black Fruiteater, Beryl-spangled Tanager, Flame-faced Tanager, Moustached Brush Finch, Long-tailed Sylph and others. Overnight at Bogotá

  3. Day 3 Observatorio de Colibríes – 3,100 m.a.s.l. Cold weather, one hour up from Bogotá

    The Observatorio de Colibríes is located at La Calera municipality and it is a special place for those who like to enjoy watching hummingbirds. Without traveling great distances or to far regions of the country, you will see more than 14 species in your visit, Great sapphirewing, Sword-billed Hummingbird, Amethyst-throated Sunangel, NE Blue-throated Starfrontlet, NE Coppery-bellied Puffleg, Glowing puffleg, Black-tailed Trainbearer, Green-tailed trainbearer, White-bellied Woodstar, Long-tailed Sylph, Tyrian Metaltail, Purple-backed Thornbill, Gorgeted Woodstar, Speckled Hummingbird and others. In the afternoon transfer to the airport (1:30 hours from La Calera)

  4. Day 4 Visit La Florida Park

    Where we are going to spot some specilalities of the wet lands of the western cordillera like Bogotá Rail, Silvery-throated Spinetail, Apolinar´s Wren, Spot-flanked Gallinule, American Coot, Yellow-headed Blackbird, Spot-flanked Gallinule, American Coot and Yellow-headed Blackbird.
