4 Days Cauca Valley and Biogeografic Chocó

  1. Day 1: Vist to Finca Alejandría (2.000 m.a.s.l. cold weather).

    In the morning we drive up looking for special birds. At Finca Alejandria we will observe Hummingbirds and Tanagers come to the feeders, the main target there is the endemic Multicolored Tanager; likewise, you can see more than 10 hummingbird’s species and several Tanager’s species. We will spend all day at Finca Alejandria, in the afternoon we return to Loma Azul Hotel.

  2. Day 2: Visit to doña Dora Feeders and Anchicayá

    Doña Dora feeders are located at 1.300 m.a.s.l. on the old road to Buenaventura. It is the best place to look for the Chocó endemics, birds like Golden-chested Tanager, Gray and Gold Tanager, Black Solitaire, Toucan Barbet, Chocó tapaculo, Blue-whiskered Tanager, Rufous-winged Tanager, Glistening-green Tanager, Club-winged Manakin and others, in the afternoon we drive 30 minutes to Araucaria Lodge. In the afternoon we will take Salsa dancing lessons in the city and return to Loma Azul

  3. Day 3: Visit to San Cipriano reserve, in Cauca Valley

    This day we will visit one of the most beautiful and the cleanest rivers in Colombia. We will spot some birds of the low Pacific and we are going to interact with the afro-descendant community of San Cipriano.

  4. Day 4: Visit to Pance. Pance is located at 1,200 m.a.s.l. (fresh weather)

    ”Balcón de Colibríes” is the perfect place to spot some of the specialties that Cauca Valley offers with Hummingbird feeders. The main targets are Long-billed Starthroat, Purple-throated Woodstar, Crowned Woodnymph, Steeley-vented Hummingbird, Colombian Chachalaca and others.
