Nous sommes bien fatigués mais bien rentrés à la maison, dans la neige (il fait 2.5°C ... bien différent de Riohacha) La tête pleine de magnifiques souvenirs... J'ai fait mon décompte dans l'avion et j'ai listé 549 espèces pour moi (sans les entendues et celles vues par toi ou les guides, mais que je n'ai pas vues ou pas suffisamment clairement... comme le plushcap par exemple 😉) dont 296 nouvelles espèces incluant 30 endémiques... Pas mal du tout ! 👍🥳 Encore un grand merci pour cette découverte extraordinaire de ton magnifique et si riche pays. Ça a été un plaisir de te rencontrer et de découvrir et comprendre ton parcours, difficile, mais remarquable et plein de succès. Bravo pour ta réussite.
I have traveled in 4 continents around the world, and my four trips to Colombia, with Ferney Salgado, of Coraves Birding Tours, stand out in so many ways. These 4 birding tours covered many geographic areas of Colombia, and resulted in seeing and photographing over 500 avian species! While birds have been my main objective, I have been thrilled to see 12,500 year old rock art, the wonderful city of Cartagena, and many mammals, including the elusive Cottontop Tamarin! I WILL return for future trip with this most amazing guide!
I have the privilege to call Ferney Salgado my friend. Besides being an excellent husband, father and friend, he is also an enthusiastic naturalist, tour operator and photographer. His deep knowledge of South American biodiversity and Colombia's history has earned him the nickname, the "Guru of Guru's". Ferney led all my tours to the Cauca Valley, Bogotá, Chingaza National Park and Manizales. Thanks to him, our participants have been able to capture amazing artistic pictures of the unique Colombian ornithofauna. I have now been back home a week and just wanted to thank you for a wonderful trip and birding experience in Colombia. I know I speak for all three of us when saying what a wonderful time we all had.
